uses the standards listed below when building wheels.
Please note that Prowheelbuilder reserves the right to
deviate from these standards depending on rider weight
and intended use.
DEEP CARBON CROSS SECTION PWB WHEEL
STANDARDS:
Spoke Count: Under 200lbs:
FRONT 16 hole / 18 hole / 20 hole depending on the rim
and hub manufacturerr REAR 24 hole.
Spoke Count: Over 200lbs:
FRONT 24 hole / 28 hole depending on intended use, REAR
28 hole.
Lacing Pattern: FRONT radial
(Unless hub manufacturer specifies otherwise) REAR 2x
2x.
Nipples: Under 200lbs: FRONT
alloy, REAR alloy non-drive and brass on drive.
Nipples: Over 200lbs: FRONT
& REAR all brass.
Spokes: If DT Revolutions
are specified for the REAR wheel, the drive side will
be substituted with the same colored DT Champion 14
gauge.
ROAD BIKE PWB
WHEEL STANDARDS ON 30MM DEEP ALLOY RIMS:
Spoke Count: Under 200lbs:
FRONT 24 hole. REAR 28 hole, depending on the rim and
hub manufacturerr.
Spoke Count: Over 200lbs:
FRONT 32 hole, REAR 32 hole.
Lacing Pattern: FRONT 2x 2x,
REAR 3x 3x.
Nipples: FRONT & REAR
all brass.
Spokes: If DT Revolutions
are specified for the REAR wheel, the drive side will
be substituted with the same colored DT Champion 14
gauge.

FIXED AND SINGLE
SPEED PWB WHEEL STANDARDS:
Spoke Count: Under 220lbs:
32 hole FRONT & REAR.
Spoke Count: Over 220lbs: 36
hole FRONT & REAR when possible.
Lacing Pattern: FRONT 2x 2x
(unless disc brake which becomes 3x 3x), REAR 3x 3x.
Please note that many hub manufacturers will not permit
us to build Radial.
Nipples: FRONT & REAR
brass.
Spokes: In the case of disc
brake or single fixed or free hubs we may use 14 gauge
spokes.
MOUNTAIN BIKE
PWB WHEEL STANDARDS:
Spoke Count: Under 220lbs:
FRONT 32 hole FRONT & REAR.
Spoke Count: Over 220lbs: 36
hole FRONT & REAR when possible.
Lacing Pattern: FRONT 3x 3x
REAR 3x 3x.
Nipples: FRONT & REAR
